On arrival, met and transferred to Taj Garden Retreat,
Varkala. Rest of the day at leisure.
Early morning departure to Alleppey, to board the Houseboat,
a converted rice boat. Overnight
in your Houseboat.
Depart for Cochin, via Kottayam, taking a boat
cruise in the backwaters for about three hours from Kottayam
to Alleppey, watching the daily chores of the people who live on the banks
of the lakes. Check into Hotel Presidency and later in the evening, view a
Kathakali performance. Overnight
at Hotel Presidency.
Early morning boating on the Periyar lake for game
viewing where you can see elephants, monkeys, deer, wild boars
etc. on the banks of the lake. Later, visit to the spice plantations and market.
Overnight at Spice Village.
After breakfast, drive to Periyar, along the Spice route,
passing through the rubber, coffee, tea and spice plantations. Check into
Spice Village for overnight stay.
Morning sightseeing of Cochin
by boat, visiting the Spice Trading Centre, Dutch Palace,
the Chinese fishing nets etc. After lunch, transfer to Taj Garden Retreat,
Varkala for overnight stay.
Transfer to the airport to connect the flight back home.
