Arrive Cochin where you will be met and transferred to
Hotel Renaissance. Afternoon, sightseeing tour of Cochin
by boat. With its fine natural harbour, Cochin has been called
the 'Queen of the Arabian Sea' and occupies a stunning location between the
arabian sea and the backwaters. Christian, Arab and Jewish settlers, and traders
from the court of kublai khan, and the Dutch, Portuguese and British have
all played a part in creating cochin's varied heritage. A tour of cochin reveals
these influences of the jewish synagogue, matancherry palace and the cantilevered
chinese fishing nets swaying in the breeze over the backwaters. The afternoon
is spent at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Drive to Periyar (192km) through some spectacular scenery.
On arrival, check in at the cardamom county. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Drive to Allepey. Check in at the Houseboat.
Full day on the houseboat.
Drive to Kumarakom. Check in at the resort. Full day at
leisure. Enjoy the mirror-still lagoons, palm-fringed canals and the shimmering
rivulets.
Early morning boat ride
on lake periyar in search of game. Periyar wildlife sanctuary is one of india's
largest wildlife reserves where the jungle of evergreen forest and elephant
grass provides shelter for a large variety of animals and birds.wildlife that
is often spotted on the banks of the lake whilst cruising includes elephants,
wild boar, sambar, wild dog, langur monkey and a large variety of reptiles.
Return to the hotel for breakfast. Afternoon, visit the spice
plantation and shops in the kumuli village. Overnight.
