After breakfast, depart on a sightseeing tour of Cochin
by boat. Owing to its fine natural harbour, Cochin has been
called the 'Queen of the Arabian Sea' and occcuipies a stunning location between
the Arabian Sea and the backwaters. Christian, Arab and Jewish settlers, and
traders from the court of Kublai Khan, and the Dutch, Portuguese and British
have all played a part in creating Cochin's varied heritage. A tour of Cochin
reveals these influences of the Jewish synagogue, Matancherry Palace and the
cantilevered Chinese fishing nets swaying in the breeze over the backwaters.

Drive to Alleppey and board on houseboat
(kettuvallam) takes you through the backwater. Kettuvallam has a drawing room,

Early morning boat-ride
on Lake Periyar in search of game. Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is one of India's

Return to the hotel for breakfast. Afternoon visit the spice plantation and

Drive to Periyar through some spectacular scenery. On arrival, check in at the
cardamom country. The rest of the day is at leisure with overnight at the hotel.

Drive down to Kovalam the most seducing
beach resort in india, and which stretches through miles, is broken-into four
bays, fringed with lush green tropical palm trees in its back drop. Check

After breakfast depart for a half-day sightseeing
of Thiruvanthapuram. Thiruvanthapuram is the gateway point

and life size figures of Kathakali dancers in full costume. The Sri Chitra
Art Gallery has modern Indian painting, including works by Raja Ravi Varma,
